It’s inevitable. He’s going to get older, and there is nothing I can do to stop it. So I ask, how can I still be surprised by something I know is going to happen eventually?

Visited the oldest zoo in Michigan today. We had the whole place to ourselves for most of the day, just us and the animals. There is something to be said for the old zoos, the ones that let you get up close and personal with the animals. We lingered for long periods, especially with the Screech Owls, the playful Mandrills, and a rather ferocious friendly lion.
