Outside looking backwards
It is official my son, you have been out for as long as you were in. Who knew nine months could go by so fast.
When you arrived all pink and wrinkly I didn’t quite know what to expect.
You refused to open your eyes until you heard Mamma’s voice.
You didn’t like your first bath very much, at least not right away.
No more baths in the kitchen sink for you.
After a bit of slow start, we knew you were growing when you outgrew the first pajamas we ever bought for you.
You’ve always helped make dinner, some days more than others….
though, you’re a big fan of eating dinner.
Gone are the days when you would fall asleep wherever you landed.
For awhile there I think your toes spent more time in your mouth than out.
You’ve made it through your first Michigan winter, and didn’t seem to mind…
and now you’re starting to explore outside.
You’re almost walking, trying to talk, and making me laugh everyday. I’d ask you to slow down, to help me savor the days, but I’m just as excited to see what you’ll do next.
Grandpa and I had a wonderful afternoon with Carter Bean Buster and his Momma! (thank you Tessa) He was a perfect angel eating out at a restaurant, and he even shared his banana with Grandpa even if Grandpa didnt want any….(ha ha)
